Regardless of whether you are a first-time attendee or a seasoned Acumatica Summit pro, we do not want any of these lesser-known tips to pass you by!
It’s Not Too Late!
There is no late registration fee and the agenda has filled out nicely (to see session details, go beyond Acumatica’s Summit page to the cvent registration page. Wishing you had more options for accommodations? While less polished, The Jockey Club units have kitchens and do not have the late-booking price point. It is connected to the Cosmopolitan and access to the Cosmo’s Chelsea amenities is included.
Still trying to convince your boss to send you to Summit? Haven’t even asked yet? Acumatica not only put together a page for you at https://summit.acumatica.com/justify-your-trip/, but they also created a downloadable form letter for you to use! Use this document as a template and be on your way – https://summit.acumatica.com/media/2019/09/Acumatica-Summit-2020-Justification-Letter.pdf (Remember to change those prices if the early bird deadline has passed). If the letter doesn’t work, name drop closing keynote speaker Robert Ballard and bring the boss along!
It’s NOT just for developers! “Whether you’re a developer or a non-developer (e.g. partner, customer, Acumatica employee) coming back for more—you’ve made your mark in previous years—or joining us for the first time, you’re welcome at Acumatica Hackathon 2020.” Read more about having a ‘hack’ of a good time in this blog post by Ajoy Krishnamoorthy and learn why Acumatica’s approach to the Hackathon is an indicator of the ways they are leading the pack.
A NEW “Getting Started” Class
For no additional cost, Acumatica is offering a class before the Summit begins to help new and prospective users get their bearings with the system in order to reap the maximum benefits of attending the event. From the description:
“In this session, you will be shown how to effectively adjust the Acumatica ERP user interface to your job needs. You will be introduced to the key features you can use for your daily operations and get information about how to personalize your site and use the search functionality to find the needed entity. You will see how to use different types of filters in the system for easily sorting data you are viewing. You will get information about the available educational resources and how to effectively use Acumatica Portal.”
Acumatica User Group Meet & Greet
If you are not attending the Intro Class, register for this event at http://bit.ly/AUGsummit to mingle with members of multiple Acumatica User Groups!
Hakkasan Floor Plans
Are you a party animal or a wallflower? I knew I would need to do some research on the venue.
“The nightclub offers a diverse nightlife experience with a variety of areas and atmospheres, cutting-edge technology and inspired design immersed in three levels of refined decadence. For those who prefer a more private and curated atmosphere, there’s the Ling Ling Lounge and Pavilion. For those wanting to be at the center of the action, the Ling Ling Club, Main Room and Mezzanine all offer an unrivaled and unforgettable nightclub experience.”
I was pleasantly surprised when I found PDF floor plans on the Hakkasan web site! Find your quiet place, a perfect people-watching perch, or the best bar for maximum mingling with the download links half way down this page: https://hakkasannightclub.com/social-affairs/
Have you noticed that the 5k and Yoga session are the morning after the party? Are you an early bird or night owl? Or will you try to be both? Hey, it’s Vegas…maybe we will place bets on whether you’ll show in the morning (ahem, Bryce, we’re talking to you).
Did you notice that the Cosmopolitan has tennis courts? If the run/yoga was not enough for you (or you slept through it) I guarantee there will be at least one other attendee with a racquet, willing to hit with you.
Sin City is not just neon and noise. Red Rock Canyon is just 15-20 minutes from the strip. Book an extra day or two for rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, or driving the 13-mile canyon loop.
Did you see it? The Sustainability at Summit link is tucked away but worth the click (https://summit.acumatica.com/sustainability-at-summit/). Acumatica lists initiatives they are rolling out at this year’s conference from digital-only conference guides to eschewing plastic water bottles and foam core signage. And the green logo is one of my favorites!
